Drove a ’64 Ford, maroon and gray,
Cruisin’ for the girls ever’ night ‘n day,
Music was a blastin’ while on the way,
Young ‘n good lookin’, we were doin’ ok!

Nicki’s drive-in was the place to be seen,
Drivin’ in circles, drinkin’ beer ‘n lookin’ mean,
Down to Golden Cue to play pool ‘n shoot snooker,
Play a few games, maybe find a good looker.

Long black hair, you’re just a little bitty!

Let’s drive to Park Inn, maybe shake down a party,
Bum a cigarette, find a girl ‘n talk dirty,
Heard the fun starts at 10:00 so let’s drive on over,
Better park this car while everybody’s sober.

High school buddies, the Panthers were the best,
The coaches ‘n the teachers, always put you to test,
While the war was raging, brothers fightin’ the Cong!
Hippies were a’tokin and singin’ their songs!

Don’t mess my hair, what’s this on your sweater?

Time to go home, the sun’s ‘bout to rise,
Stop the smokin’ and the drinkin’, just try to survive,
We’re gettin’ a little older but we’re still pretty cool,
We’ll always remember Permian High School.
