Can you not find some joy,
In things that bring joy to me,
Like looking out a doorway,
To see things that I can see?
As the door begins to close,
I feel so all alone,
Alone, though we’re together,
Just you at I at home.
A parallel life we live,
I’m on a cloud, you’re on the sun,
As I fly in new directions,
You’re tied where you’ve begun.
I must persevere,
While you grieve who I’ve become,
Perhaps, we’ll find each other again,
‘Fore tomorrow our lives be done.
