When I was in control,
Living a desultory life of chess,
No matter the effort sustained,
I could never sustain success.
The closer I get to heaven,
The more I search for truth,
Truth found in His control,
Beyond the bloom of youth.
Be careful of the one who prowls,
With life’s candy, gifts, and toys,
Providing a roseate vision of lies,
On the wrong path he employs.
I find with God in charge,
I care less of what life sends,
I am on a path of His power and grace,
And I know where that path ends.
