We search from the beginning of our life,
Looking for our purpose, the purpose of our life journey,
The wiser we become, the more earnest the search.
In that wisdom, I have concluded that the search is futile,
It is like chasing the wind; it is unfindable.
Our life is not linear or singularly self-determined.
We constantly adapt to changing events, unexpected, inexplicable events.
Our life seems to change like the rolling clouds, with each sunrise and sunset.
Still, it is there, mingled with these changes and the whims of the journey,
But it hides from us in life’s boiling cauldron of change and confusion.
Further, I would opine that we have no beginning.
Neither do we have an ending, and that plays into our unfindable purpose.
We are a creation of God who himself has no beginning or ending.
I would ask then, did he just decide one day to create our person or did our imperishable soul exist within God’s plans from the beginning, long before our human conception? And isn’t our soul designed to have no end?
According to scholarly sources, there are over 100 chapters in the bible that attempt to explain our purpose for living.
They all point to one purpose, simple and undeniable . . . to please God,
If all our efforts are pure in that pursuit, God will provide the courage, guidance, and protection necessary to fulfill that purpose,
And where we falter, he will bring us back to that purpose through Jesus,
Therefore, any purpose for living, beyond pleasing God, is unfindable.
