The Road Home

I am on an airy road,
The road that takes me home,
To angels, saints, and my savior,
Where I’ll never be alone.

A special road, crystalline,
A smooth path winding,
A surface of joy and peace,
Of a sky filled with shining.

I hear many voices passing by,
Voices now, then, and when,
They’re calling me to hurry on,
To leave behind my sin.

Joined by throngs of greeters,
Their love to reify me,
The light and song salubrious,
A joy vaster than the sea.

My shadow cast begins to fade,
To his grace my soul surrenders,
The road home magnificent,
A destiny of blessing and splendor.
