New Passions

What colleges have you attended?

I spent my “working life” in finance and banking. My first job was door-to-door, collecting late mortgage payments while getting spit on and cussed out. It became clear that more education was important. The problem was that I already had a young family with all the accompanying bills and obligations. Nevertheless, with their wonderful support, I started going to night school. Six years later, I graduated from the University of Houston. I got a better job and continued going to tonight school. After another four years, I graduated from the University of St. Thomas in Houston with an MBA. I got an even better job and spent a total of 40 years in the industry. Moving on with my life, I turned to poetry and writing historic fiction. Having learned the value of education, I returned to school and will graduate from Liberty University this spring with an MFA in creative writing. I have published hundreds of poems on my poetry blog and have published a novel. My second novel will be published soon and my third is underway. It is never too late to feed your passion.
