Addiction

When you feel addicted to evil,
To the charm of vicious snares,
To things that want kill you,
And the addiction doesn’t care.

When your heart no longer sings,
If you’re lost despite your prayers,
You ask where redemption is,
‘Cause it seems no longer there.

It’s best to sit in silence,
A choice too seldom made,
Just listen for forgiveness,
For his mercy and his grace.

Don’t speak or contemplate,
Swing wide the unlocked gate,
You’ll feel your sin fade away,
The addiction will be replaced.
