The Hope of Calvary

I won a small victory today,
Took only a prayer to ask,
But as I daily fight off sin,
Many days I fail the task.

For sin seems always with me,
Woven into earthly time,
I struggle to act an example,
of word and thought of mind.

A small victory is still victory,
On calvary victory was gained,
Twenty four hours for eternity,
Its joy and peace to claim.

Thank you, Holy Spirit,
That my little victory came,
Tomorrow comes another chance,
To wrestle the evil tame.
