I wake to a yellow morning sky,
Freckled with dark clouds of burnt orange,
The flame sweeping the stars away.
Its majesty looks down upon Rome’s
ancient Hadrian Wall, covered by a
lion’s mane of windblown grass.
The miracle of God’s creation,
Sits majestically, not above the glory of Rome,
But the smallness of man.
